this one probably won’t come as a surprise to you.. since I’ve been obsessing over him for the past week or so. at least, I’m pretty sure my roommate’s tired of hearing his songs. oh well. :: meet justin nozuka :: meet justin nozuka. he’s young; 21 years old, with an album out at 19. he’s ny [...] I’ve got a cup of coffee in hand and an earbud in one ear, and this guy’s helping my day start off a little brighter. :: xavier rudd :: meet xavier rudd. how can you not love a musician that plays with a setup like this? short story even shorter, there’s some cut and dry reasons I [...] I don’t usually like female artists enough to listen to over and over again. they get shrill, repetitive, and sometimes pathetic. this female musician, however, usually makes it onto my weekly playlist at least once. :: maria mena :: meet maria mena. I think part of the reason I like her is because she isn’t american, and [...] I could listen to this man sing for days on end. His voice is honest, gravelly, and he looks a little like Jesus. :: ray laMontagne :: meet Ray LaMontagne. this man is frightfully interesting to me. he grew up with a violent musician for a father and an unsettled mother. he left home around 17 and [...] I’m feeling particularly bluesy today/this week–hence this week’s pick. quite a change from last week’s, hm? :: michael bublé :: meet (rather, reacquaint yourself with) michael bublé. (p.s. I don’t know if you can see it, but his shirt pocket is sideways. do you know how awesome that is?) he’s a canadian (shame we Americans can’t take [...] the weak at heart need not be interested. this, my friends, is a little hardcore. :: a day to remember :: meet a day to remember. they’re screamo. yes, this means they scream sometimes. intriguingly enough though, they’re not all bad, nor all scream. after a friend of mine challenged me to become knowledgeable about screamo, I [...] my weekly listening habits vary wildly depending on what the previous week has been like, so I figure I might make this musician of my hour thing weekly.
